Back to Download Salon Software
INSTRUCTIONS:
Work around to get the salon software or our other software working on Vista . Please print this out.
1. Turn off the UAC ( User Access Control) in Vista before installing or downloading the software. And make sure all of your drivers and other software that you will be installing on Vista have been installed before continuing. The UAC is that pop up box that continually asks you if you want to run programs that you just installed.
Go to settings and up to control panel
Find USER ACCOUNTS and FAMILY Safety
Click on ADD or Remove user accounts
Click Continue when you receive a warning message.
Click on go to the main user accounts page link which is on the bottom of that
screen.
It is under setup parental controls
Click Turn User Account Control on or off link
Click continue when you receive a warning message
"Uncheck" the UAC box and click OK
Then you will be asked to restart your computer. Restart (aka) Reboot the PC at
this time.( even if you are not asked to reboot you must do this to allow the
UAC changes to be accepted.
Install the Salon (or other software except the car wizard software) then do the following:
Download and Save to desktop then Run the "install4S.bat"
file
This will un-register and then re-register the dll's and ocx files that VISTA
has broken.
Since you have a virus scanner and firewall on your PC, you should leave
the UAC off so the salon software will function correctly.
The UAC does not need to be on to run VISTA.
It is best to run the salon software in compatibility mode for XP service PK 2
to avoid any compatibility issues. Go to the
C:\Program files\SalonSalonII folder and right click on SalonSalonII.exe
follow the image below and DO NOT check run program as an administrator. Do the
same if this is any other program of ours as well, as this will also allow the
other programs to run in XP compatibility mode. Since each installation of the
program might function differently on your OS, please contact us if you have
problems getting our software to work on VISTA.

*If you are having difficulty with the printers or other hardware you will need to contact the manufacturers of each item and ask them for any upgrade utilities or drivers for Vista.
Alternative ***TO keep the UAC on in the VISTA OS.
------------------------
Make sure you are logged into the Vista OS as an administrator.
Go to the C:\program files\SalonSalonII folder
Right click on the SalonSalonII.exe file
Click "Properties"
Click Compatibility tab
Check off Run this program in compatibility mode and choose Windows XP service
Pack 2
from the drop down box.
Where you see privilege level, check off run this program
as an administrator.
Click on settings for all users below that.
Run the program in XP2 compatibility mode and as an administrator for all users.
This will allow you to keep the UAC on. Do this as soon as the program is
installed.
If you receive any error messages telling you that such and such a file is not
registered,
please run the install4s.bat file which will
re-register the files on the VISTA OS.
